Some people view veils as modest, others view them with fear. I view them as a sign of beauty

The idea for this was brought about by traveling by plane as of late. I'm a young white mom of German (fair complex with blue eyes) decent traveling in America. I was allowed on the plane with two 16 ounce bottles of water (normally they only allow bottles of 3 ounces) and at least 5 people asked if I needed help.

I sometimes wonder how I would be treated if I was wearing a veil

Interesting point you make in your description. Certainly not the same, that's for sure.

I really like this picture. It's mysterious and intriguing at the same time. I also like the way she is looking off to the side rather than directly at the camera ^^

gorgeous eyes. I think this image is well laid out but a little overexposed in the highlights.Im curious what a monochrome or black and white version would be like.

The editing is what overexposed the highlights. The original picture is better for that. Black and white looks good but I couldn't find curves in Photoshop Elements, and normal black and white is too boring for me. I like to add umph with curves

The shots directly at the camera are pretty powerful too. Sometimes it's hard to choose just one photo to post here. That's why I love Flickr. I post most of my photos there. But it's for friends and family only now.

Beautiful photograph! Lovely tones and composition. Your description is very interesting, really makes you think. There are a lot of prejudices around today.

Thanks. I really do think that people take steriotypes to a crazy level where they let the media spoon feed them fear that makes them react to images instead of seeing the truth. They see an image on TV and then associate it with anytime they see that in real life
