I'm not sure how many people see the beauty of an industrialized city, but I sure do. This is awesome.

Yeah, I hate the fact that they are poluting. But I love the smoke stacks and the smoke it's so pretty. When you go to the top of the mountain I used to live on, you could see Mt Storm. It takes an hour to get there by road. But you could see it from the top of the mountain. It was awesome. Still is. They also have HUGE windmill farms over there.

There is truly beauty in *everything*, isn't there? I think the fact that you were able to transform what would likely be a drab, gray, and possibly pollutant-spewing powerplant into this visually pleasing, almost mystical-looking nighttime image is quite :clap:worthy. I really enjoy the warm tones, the time at which you set up the shot, and how the picture's lines, curves, darkness, and color all interact with each other very well- making for a wonderful composition.

;) savvy artistic eye, m' dear.

Thanks. I just wish I had a tri-pod. I took it on the hood of my truck. My husband was whining and complaining that it was freezing out and he wanted to go home (we were an hour away from home and it was getting late) And I looked at him and said, "YOU'RE BORING!" I remember the days when my friends and I would take off on a whole day of just FINDING stuff to take pictures of.... and here was this building that everytime I see it at night I say to him, "wouldn't that be a lovely photo?"

Reminds me of walking around the city with my boyfriend- I nearly always have my camera on me, and I stop to take the pictures in the oddest places, sometimes in the oddest of positions... oh, the artists- we're a funny bunch, I tell you.

About the tripod...naw, not for this one! The soft quality in this image that is the result of, what I'm assuming, the non-use of a tripod just *adds* to it- in my opinion. The soft, warm, and slight blur that is present in the image adds to its ethereal/scary qualities- On one hand the viewer knows about the negative environmental impacts that are associated with the industrialization of land, but on the other hand they are presented with an image that, to me, is beautiful and nearly *fiery* with light...

I thank you for your comments. I agree. I like looking at it from your point of view.

And about taking pictures, that got me in a lot of trouble with the family in Hawaii. They were always on the GO GO GO, and I would stop and take 10 pictures of a Palm Tree and everyone would be yelling, "That palm tree isn't going anywhere, take pictures LATER!!!"

Very nice work, fantastic colours and intensity on the lights. The minimal reflections in the water are also nice., =)
