My Suggestions to Improve DA (Crossing Off Slowly)

I. Buy and Sell I either would like DA to set up a way to buy and sell original arts and wishlist them on our pages OR have an Etsy module like our Twitter module

Select 15 Friends Yes, you could uncheck all the other people to only leave 15 that will show up on your main page (if you have that feature turned on) but then when you click on "see all friends" only those 15 show up. It would be very nice to be able to keep and list all of your friends, while still being able to pick which 15 friends get a spot on your front page. This way, people don't have to fill up their journals with needless icons.

II. Gallery Browsing It would be quite wonderful if our gallery pages had pages, and arrows, and numbers so that we could skip ahead, instead of having to keep hitting "next 24" (or whichever number we have it set to)

III. Gallery Order It would also be pretty sweet if we could reorganize our gallery, instead of the submissions always being in order by submission. I have no clue if these suggestions are possible or not. But they'd be rad. 11/07 The new gallery browsing and folders rocks!

IV. Poll Comments It would be nice to be notified in our message center when somebody comments on our polls and personal forums

V. Spell Check Pretty self explanatory. Browsers now have it built in!

VI. Cross Categorization In order to get our art seen more, it would be nice if we had the option to submit things into multiple galleries. Several other art sites do that, and it's quite nice to have the option, especially when you are having trouble deciding which of the two galleries you think it fits into better. I'm sure this option would get totally abused, and create more work for the team members who have to correct people who mis-categorize them. But it would be splendid for the artists who know what they are doing. 11/07- With the new folder options, this is now possible! yipee!

VII. Personal Forum Control Why can't we delete old forum threads on our pages? I've turned mine off because of the inability to control it.</sub>

VIII. Mark As Unread It would be nice if we could read our notes, but then mark them as unread so that we don't forget to read them later. It would also help out with organizations where more than one person operates the site. (if you are using Firefox, there is a greasemonkey extention for this. Also you can just create folders)

IX. Dev Moble Stats It would be nice to see how many, and possibly who is downloading our photos on their cell phones. I could see the who not working out because of privacy issues. But seeing how many would still be nice.

X. Ability to Turn off Favs This would be great for scraps, DevIDs, and especially for clubs!

XI. Small Photo Clips in our Description. It would be really cool if we could imbed small images into our descriptions. That way when we submit a traditional painting/drawing or something of the sorts, we could also include small photo clips of the WIP. Maybe they could just be thumbnail views of photos in our scraps section. Or thumbs of previous submissions, like if we were doing a series.

_{XII. Submit Button With the arrival of V5, you have to press the little DA logo to submit a deviation. I really miss having the tab at the top of my screen at all times. That way, wherever I am, I can go and submit something real quick. Eh, I'm kind of used to how it works now}

XIII. Resource Lists It would look more organized to have some sort of resources radio button during the submission process, where you would have multiple empty fields to fill in the URL, and what they'd like to name it. Then it would automatically turn that URL into a working link for them. Somthing along those lines. If you are a senior, here is my forum topic on it




I. Thumbs in Stock It would be easier to find and show stock art if we had the use of the thumb option in the stock forum

_{II. Subscribe to News Articles It would be nice to be able to subscribe to news posts, especially the ones that don't appear on the main page. Sometimes we forget to check each categories page. Thanks aip, for the suggestion (if you are using Firefox, there is/used to be a greasemonkey extention for this) Summer/Fall 07- Now if you watch the deviant, you see every news article they submit}

III. DevDollars It would be cool if we could send devDollars to people. That way we could award say $15.00 in deviantDollars as a prize. Or we could pay people in deviantDollars for commissions and whatnot.

IV. News Mod It would be nice to be able to edit our own news articles, add images (not just thumbs) etc



<sub>I. Offer AdCast It would be neat to be able to buy adCast for a friend, or offer it up as a prize for a contest (FAQ #777: I want to buy an AdCast subscription for another person, either as a gift or a prize for a contest I am running. How can I do this?)

II. deviantART Notice There shouldn't be ads in the middle of your pages. They should be above and below. Thankfully I have subscriptions for most of my pages, and don't have to deal with it. But for people who don't know DA, and come and visit somebody without a subscription, it makes it look like that person is doing the advertising.</sub>

III. Modeling Category As a photographer, I get annoyed when I come across awesome photos that aren't even taken by the deviant. They are the model. And I view modeling as an artform in itself. But if the modeling is the artform, than it shouldn't be categorized under photography. That is false labeling. I think there needs to be a category for the models to post the photos that they have the rights to, but didn't take themselves.

IV. Camera Search It would be nice to browse images taken by the same camera model. _{(Suggestion by diaboligragt)}

V. Browse Staff Features A fellow deviant suggested that we should be able to browse the Daily Deviations by category and then by who gave the feature. (Suggested by Dandelion-lion see her mock up Visual Idea Here)
