I asked my husband if my painting was macabre enough, and he said, "honestly... it's too bright to be macabre" thus the running it through Photoshop to achieve the desired macabre effect.

Backstory: <sub>One of the goldfish in my pond passed away. He had lived a good long life, he was at least 3 or 4 years old. I realize that 20 years is average, but that is besides the point. So, my mom was down visiting and she buried his remains in the back yard. Later on ~LillianAva asked me why Grandma KK, "Gardened the fish" and if a tree would grow there.

I tried to explain to her the difference between burying a dead fish and growing a tree from a seed.... but before she could comprehend the truth, ~stumbleine179 stepped in and told her, "Yes, that is where your goldfish crackers come from, GOLDFISH TREES!"

Thanks Josh! hahaha... and of course she believes him over mommy.</sub>
